Yesterday, I happened to install Divi Builder on one of my client’s website. I had to integrate Google Maps on contact page. Upon opening Divi Builder’s Map widget, I could not see the Map. Upon inspecting from Google Chrome’s super awesome Developer Tools (Shortcut: F12) Console tab. I got the warning:

This was kind of a trouble for me as I had to deliver the website on time. Contacting Divi team or waiting for the next Divi update was not an option for me, therefore, I done a workaround to this problem by modifying core plugin files of Divi Builder. Please see below for the changes I made.

File:  divi-builder/divi-builder/includes/builder/functions.php
Replace the highlighted text with following:

File: divi-builder/divi-builder/includes/builder/framework.php
Replace the highlighted text with following:

Please Note: You can generate your Google API Key on Google API Console. You must have a Google account to generate your API Key. Other thing worth mentioning is that you must activate following three API services on Google API Manager.

  • Google Maps Embed API
  • Google Maps Geocoding API
  • Google Maps JavaScript API

Your Google Maps will start working on your Divi Builder after making above changes.
